"It’s full speed ahead now that I’m in my final term! We’re in rehearsals for our agent showcase. We are lucky enough to have a professional film company to create a video of the performance.
After the showcase on Thursday and Friday we are prepping for a few professional workshops next week. We have a Sondheim workshop along with Mama Mia, Come From Away and Chicago, with more to follow.
We had auditions for our final show in July last Friday. Our Director is Kirk Jameson. He’s worked lots with the Barn so it’s nice to have a familiar face to work with and to learn from. Hopefully we will have an external audience by July. Fingers crossed! "

March 2021
Katrina has recently provided an update on her progress as she starts her second term at Cardiff and describes the arrangements for the rehearsals and performances. Katrina's update in full will be included in the March newsletter to Members.
"The funding I received from The Arts Society Corinium has been a huge part to my journey in the Performing Arts. Without the support from local Trusts and Charities, I would not have been able to train and pursue a career in the Arts. I’m so grateful for the opportunities I have been granted and once the Covid-19 restrictions allow, I look forward to meeting all The Art Society Corinium members in person."

January 2021
We are delighted that Katrina Webb, our Cirencester Young Arts nominee has written to the members of our society to let us know how she is getting on. Katrina's letter will be circulated to members with the January newsletter. Here are some highlights.
Her first term at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama has been one of growth and varied lessons. Dance (Tap, Ballet, Street Dance & Jazz) has been enjoyable as well as Acting classes in Improvisation and Text, Spoken and Singing lessons, Voice Technique, Music Therapy, Repertoire sessions, Movement classes, Monologue sessions, Dialect classes and performance classes.
She reports great feedback from teachers especially relating to her acting classes and good progress regarding the dance aspect of the course. Katrina was excited to report that she passed her Music Theory examination with a Distinction and says ‘’I have personally noticed a huge difference in my confidence both in and out of the classroom’’.
Sadly due to Covid 19 and lockdown conditions in Cardiff, her performance opportunities were somewhat reduced but she was however able to join in the Christmas Concert held at The Royal Welsh College Dora Stoutzker Concert Hall singing in a 3-part new arrangement of Jingle Bells which was labelled as the ‘highlight of the evening’ by onlookers due to the fun and uplifting energy of the song. A really special celebration after being put through a term of restrictions.
Katrina is now heading back to Cardiff for her second term at the College of Music. She is particularly looking forward to being part of a socially distanced Musical in the Sherman Theatre, one of Cardiff’s premier theatres. It is hoped that Casting Directors and Agents will be able to attend the performance. Katrina says her time at RWCMD will continue to be the most amazing and fulfilling experience to her.
